For the fourth consecutive year Cardif Pinnacle has sponsored the IAM (Institute of Advanced Motorists) Group Achievement Awards. This is a nation-wide competition open to over 200 IAM groups and the award goes to the group which was considered to have contributed most towards road safety and the principles of the IAM during the past 12 months.
Specially engraved glass trophies and cheques were presented to overall winners the South Lancs Motorcyclists Group with runner up awards going to the Herts & Beds Motorcyclists Group and the Mid Ulster Car Group at the IAM National Conference held recently in Wolverhampton.
This is the second year Herts & Beds Advanced Motorcyclists have achieved a Cardif Pinnacle Award and Tony Clark from the Group returned to the Conference to make a presentation on how they spent last year's prize money. Mr Clark's presentation included details of how the group had subsidised Advanced Driving tests for drivers under 26 in their region and how the purchasing of a mini DV camcorder used as an 'on bike video' had become a useful tool for improving pre-test rider skills.
IAM National Group Committee Chairman George Goldie said: "I was very pleased that our continued relationship with Cardif Pinnacle enabled us to recognise the achievement of our regional groups and to continue their valuable work promoting the IAM in its quest to improve road safety."
Martin Ring, Media Relations Manager for Cardif Pinnacle added: "The IAM's work is a contributor to improving road safety in the UK and we are delighted to support them as part of our Corporate Social Responsibility programme."
Editors notes: Cardif Pinnacle additionally sponsor the Prince Michael International Road Safety Awards.
